Tanis & Mark…The Wedding

July has been a very busy month here at Inspired Occasions.  We kicked off the first wedding of the month on July 4th .  It turned out to be a beautiful day for Tanis and Mark’s outdoor ceremony at Calgary’s popular Baker Park.  I just love outdoor ceremonies!  The weather forecast had been threatening rain but it wasn’t until the end of the photo shoot that any dark clouds appeared, which made for some dramatic shots so it was perfect in the end.  The location of the reception offered gorgeous views of one of Calgary’s private lakes and was the perfect backdrop for the decor of classic black and white, with a touch of of whimsy and a dash of damask.  All in all it was a perfect day!  Enjoy these pics of Tanis and Mark’s magical day courtesy of the talented duo, Shelley and Jeff, of As I See It Photography.  If you don’t have your wedding day photographer chosen yet you should definitely check them out.  They have the best energy and are super fun to work with.   









Rock Your Engagement Session

I think engagement photos are absolutely wonderful and truly essential for those who want the very best results out of their wedding day photographs.  For starters, most people have never been photographed professionally so an engagement photo session provides a great opportunity to get comfortable in front of the camera.  It also gives your wedding photographer a good sense of your personalities and how best to communicate with you for optimal results.  By the time your wedding rolls around you’ll be an old pro in front of the camera and comfortable striking all those fab poses!  The other great thing about engagement photos is that they provide an opportunity to capture some stunning images (other than your wedding photos) of you and your sweetie that you can enjoy for years to come.  You can also use the images for wedding related items such as Save-the-Date postcards, the front of your wedding programs, personalized table numbers, on your wedding website, etc.  Use your imagination and flaunt how fabulous you look together!
